Time for a change … |
“I’d love to go out and meet more people, make new friends.
But where do I find people like me?
How do I connect with them?
What do I say to them?”
You’re sociable, friendly and you think independently.
You thoroughly enjoy being a part of a stimulating,
entertaining conversation on an equal basis with like-minded
people from a similar background. Curious to learn more about others,
your life in general…
Welcome to Great Conversations
It’s Thursday,
and the evening is just beginning as you arrive at our venue
for the evening, a restaurant specially selected for its
ambience, excellent food and service. Your host welcomes you
at the door, and shows you to your table. You take your seat
and order a drink, as the guests already seated introduce
themselves to you. Your waiter comes around and takes your
meal order for the evening.
Shortly after
your starter arrives, our Conversation Leader for the
evening takes the platform and introduces the topic for the
evening. Tonight as always, the Conversation Leader is
entertaining, the topic uplifting and thought-provoking.
Glancing quickly around, you observe that everyone is
already engrossed. As usual the talk is short, about 25-30
minutes, and ends at a point where… someone at your table
quickly picks it up, and the conversation amongst you begins
to flow immediately!
As the
dialogue continues in a multitude of different directions,
you are aware that you’re having such fun! It doesn’t matter
what is said (mostly) or where it leads (mostly) - you
quickly find yourself engaged in fascinating, sometimes
hilarious discussion with the people at your table. It’s a
comfortable and natural environment, with no pressure on you
to speak if you prefer not to, on the other hand when you
feel like being a chatterbox your contribution is welcomed.
You’re soon deeply absorbed in it all!
Your main
course arrives, and later on desert. You recall someone, at
some time mentioning that one of the greatest pleasures in
life is sharing good food with good company, now this makes
sense! You don’t really notice the plates being cleared
after each course; you’re too engaged in what’s being said
all around you.
You glance at
your watch, and notice with surprise that a good couple of
hours have flown past. Coffee is being served, and maybe an
after-dinner liqueur as well, and your Conversation Leader
takes the floor again. Highlights of the evening are shared,
amongst howls of laughter, contact details are shared with
people you’d like to connect with at another point in time.
The
evening’s events draw to a close … perhaps you stay on for a
while to chat a bit longer, exchange contact details – or
party! Perhaps it’s time to go home, and you make your way
back to your car or the Designated Driver meeting point,
still chatting away to your new friends. Either way you
notice you’re still smiling, feeling upbeat and positive,
and you’re already looking forward to your next Great
Conversation!
